- Denis Villeneuve Born in Canada Years 1967-. Denis Villeneuve is a Canadian filmmaker who is 56 years old. He writes and directs films. He has won the Canadian Screen Award (formerly the Genie Award) four times for Best Direction, for the films Maelström (2002), Polytechnique (2009), Incendies (2010), and Enemy (2013). The Toronto Film Critics Association honored the fourth film as the best Canadian production of the year, while the first three also received the Canadian Screen Award for Best Motion Picture.
