The University of Stirling in Scotland was established in 1967 by royal charter and is a renowned public university in the United Kingdom. In 1968, Lord Robbins was appointed as the University’s first chancellor. - Iain Banks was a Scottish author who wrote science fiction under the pen name Iain M. Banks and popular fiction under the pen name Iain Banks. He was born in the United Kingdom and died in 2013 at the age of 59. Banks, who also added the first letter of his middle name, Menzies (/mz/ (listen)), He started writing full-time after The Wasp Factory’s (1984) success. Consider Phlebas, his debut science fiction book, launched the Culture series in 1987. His books have been adapted for theatre, radio and television. Banks was included in The Times’ 2008 list of “The 50 Greatest British Writers Since 1945” Banks announced in April 2013 that his cancer was incurable and that he would probably only live for a year. He died on 9 June 2013.

(age 26) Occupations swimmer Bio Duncan William MacNaughton Scott is a Scottish swimmer who competes for Scotland at the Commonwealth Games and Great Britain at the FINA World Aquatics Championships. Scott became the most decorated swimmer in Olympic history for Great Britain after winning four medals at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, the most of any British athlete to do so in a single competition. Scott is an all-around swimmer who has competed internationally in the 100- and 200-meter freestyle, butterfly, and 200-meter individual medley. He has won golds in the 4 x 200 meter freestyle relay at the Olympics, two golds at the World Championships, a gold in the 4 x 100 meter medley relay, as well as silvers in the freestyle and medley relay at the World Championships and the Olympics. At the 2015 European Games and the 2018 Commonwealth Games, Scott won the 100-meter freestyle event, and at the same European Games and the 2018 European Aquatics Championships, he won the 200-meter freestyle event.
