How many people get into UMD Scholars Program?
(Each program has between 70 and 90 students enrolled each academic year.) Dedicated program faculty lead students through specially created courses and experiences over the course of two years.
Is UMD Honors or Scholars better?
The Honors College is probably a little more rigorous academically, and students there have access to classes led by eminent professors that are frequently harder. When accepted, you can choose from one of the honors college’s five (I think?) programs at your leisure, according to your interests.

Admission for current UMD students is extremely competitive, and there are very few openings. A minimum cumulative GPA of 3. 5 is required to apply. By enrolling in a departmental honors program within their academic department or college, upperclassmen can also become members of the Honors College.
