The campus of Tufts University, located just five miles outside of Boston, has long been a destination for bright teenagers in the Northeastern United States. However, over the past few decades, Tufts has experienced a consistent increase in the number of applications and a corresponding decline in acceptance rates. Between 1990 and 2000, Tufts experienced 87% growth in the number of annual applicants In this cycle, the number of applications increased from roughly 12,000 to almost 35,000 between 2001 and 2022.
Gaining acceptance to Tufts now more than ever before necessitates, for the majority of applicants, an A/A- average across the full spectrum of the most challenging courses available to you, as well as extracurricular involvement/talents, SAT/ACT scores that exceed the 95th percentile.
