A public university called Technical University of Denmark was founded in 1829. The university is among the top engineering schools in Europe and is situated in Kongens Lyngby, north of Copenhagen, Denmark. There are three campuses of the university: the Lyngby Campus (the main campus), the Ballerup Campus, and the Riso Campus.
There are 26 departments of education at Technical University of Denmark, including departments of mathematics, photonics engineering, micro- and nanotechnology, transportation, chemistry, electrical engineering, and many more. Approximately nineteen research centers are also housed at the university, including the Arctic Technology Centre, the Center for Facilities Management, the Center for Biological Sequence Analysis, which is led by Sren Brunak, the Center for Information and Communication Technologies, the Center for Microbial Biotechnology, the Center for Phase Equilibria and Separation Processes, the Center for Technology, Economics and Management, the Center for Traffic and Transport, among many others.

- Anders Hejlsberg Born in Denmark Years 1960-. Anders Hejlsberg, a Danish software engineer, is 63 years old and works as a programmer, computer scientist, and systems architect. He co-created a number of programming languages and development tools. He was the creator of Turbo Pascal in the beginning and the principal architect of Delphi. He currently works for Microsoft as the lead architect of C# and core developer on TypeScript.
- Piet Hein was a Danish polymath (mathematician, inventor, designer, writer, and poet) who frequently wrote under the Old Norse pen name Kumbel, which translates to “tombstone.” He was born in Denmark in 1905 and died in 1996 at the age of 91. Soon after the German occupation of Denmark in April 1940, his brief poems, known as gruks or grooks (Danish: gruk), began to appear in the daily newspaper Politiken under the pen name “Kumbel Kumbell.” He also created the Hex board game and the Soma cube.
- Ove Nyquist Arup, CBE, MICE, MIStructE, FCIOB was an English engineer who founded Arup Group Limited, a multinational company that provides engineering, design, planning, project management, and consulting services for building systems. Ove Arup is regarded as one of the top structural and architectural engineers of all time.
