What is the application deadline?
Due to the cohort schedule, there are different deadlines for each program, and the Office of Admissions is currently accepting applications for all programs.
When should I apply?
We advise applying early to give yourself time for the admissions decision and the submission of your application materials. Accepted candidates are eligible to submit an application for a Pacifica scholarship by the deadline of August 15 and receive support from the various offices that promote student success, including guest services for lodging reservations, financial aid, and student accounts, to name a few.
What is the application fee?
At the conclusion of the initial online application, there is a $75 application fee.
What academic term should I apply?
Pacifica Graduate Institute is on a quarter system. (For quarter dates, visit the Academic Calendars page or get in touch with the admissions office.) The majority of programs only accept enrollment for the Fall quarter, with start dates in the middle of September or early October. The two-hybrid programs also admit in the Spring quarter. May I apply to more than one graduate program?
The Admissions Advisors are available to assist you in choosing the program that will be the best fit for your goals as the Office of Admissions can only process one application for a program at a time. If applicants decide on a different program, they do have the option to switch their application to that program. There is only one application fee, which is $75 for the first online application you submit. If you switch programs, the fee is waived.
Do you offer conditional admission?
For applicants who have not yet finished, say, their undergraduate studies, Pacifica offers conditional acceptance decisions. They can submit an in-progress transcript and be interviewed for an admissions decision. An applicant who has been conditionally accepted must submit an official transcript showing the date of degree conferral once a degree is finished in order for their application to be officially accepted before the program begins.
What is the process for an international student?
Apply online to one of Pacifica’s nine degree programs and specializations before April 1st or as soon as you can to give yourself enough time to get the F-1 visa that all Pacifica students will need as well as any additional documentation needed to study in the United States. Applications must be submitted by December 1st for Spring enrollment in order to give the necessary processing time. International transcripts must be evaluated to determine U. S. equivalency. Current NACES (National Association of Credential Evaluation Services) and AICE (Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc.) members may submit evaluations for consideration. ). What TOEFL scores does Pacifica look for?
To complete an application, Pacifica requires the submission of all TOEFL scores. We accept scores from the 213 computer-based test, 550 written test, or 90 internet-based test. Please get in touch with your admissions advisor if you want to learn more about the TOEFL.
What type of visas do you offer to international students?
Pacifica offers F1 Visas. Any employment authorization while enrolled at Pacifica Graduate Institute is prohibited by the F1 visa. This visa essentially functions as a “commuter” visa, enabling simple border crossings at least once a month. Please be aware that the processing time for Change of Status or F1 Visa applications could be up to three months. If a student wishes to reside in the U. S. Please be aware that we only process F1 visas; holders of any other visas are not allowed to enroll in classes at Pacifica.
Where do I send my transcripts?
Official transcripts can be sent electronically or in a sealed envelope to the office of admissions. If sent electronically, please send them to Admissions at applicant@pacifica. edu. Transcripts that are authenticated and sealed must be obtained directly from your school. Send official transcripts only from institutions where you received a degree (bachelor’s degree or higher) when applying. Do I have to have finished my undergraduate degree by the time I apply?
No, but you must complete your undergraduate degree before enrolling in graduate school at the Pacifica Graduate Institute. You must send your in-progress transcript to the Office of Admissions if you have not yet completed your degree at the time of application, though it can be unofficial. Before beginning the program, you must send your official final degree transcript if you are accepted. This must be done after your degree has been awarded.
Do I have to take the GRE, GMAT, or other tests in order to apply to Pacifica Graduate Institute?
No. The GRE/GMAT or other tests are not an admissions requirement. Your personal statement, resume, and writing samples from your application file are used to assess your likelihood of succeeding at Pacifica.
What if I already have a degree from Pacifica Graduate Institute?

The maximum number of credits that can be transferred into any of Pacifica’s doctoral degree programs is 16 credits. No coursework from more than four (4) years ago will be taken into consideration for transfer to Pacifica Graduate Institute. Prior to enrolling, a transfer credit application must be made after opening a Pacifica application. Can I be admitted if I have an unaccredited bachelor’s degree?
In most cases, no. A degree from a regionally accredited or state-approved university is required for Pacifica. S. a U.S.-accredited educational institution, or for international students, a S. bachelor’s degree from an institution of recognized standing. A student from an unaccredited institution, or one that offers bachelor’s degree instruction but not the degree itself, may on rare occasions be considered for admission if they have an accredited degree from another institution. Can I be admitted if I have an unaccredited master’s or doctoral degree?
For most of our programs, yes. A bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited or recognized state university is required for Pacifica. S. a U.S.-accredited educational institution, or for international students, a S. a bachelor’s degree from a reputable institution will suffice for the majority of our programs. What is the general format of classes?
The classes typically consist of three to four days of lectures, discussions, and hands-on activities, with nine to ten residential sessions per year. Additionally, group or individual presentations as well as clinical training for licensure programs may be included in classes. The hybrid programs combine four annual residential sessions on campus with more online learning modules.
Do you have any online graduate degree programs?
Although Pacifica does not currently offer fully online degrees, the cohort program structure enables our students to live and work anywhere in the nation while completing a graduate degree program. The majority of our programs meet once a month for 3–4 days, while the two hybrid programs meet once every three months for 4 days.
How much work is required outside of class?
Class assignments consist of readings, papers, and/or projects. There are roughly two hours of work outside of class for every hour spent in class for the master’s program in counseling psychology. Students in the blended hybrid program Depth Psychology and Creativity must put in at least 15-20 hours of work outside of class using the D2L online learning platform. For the doctoral programs, a reasonable expectation for reading, writing, and research in preparation for a session or the completion of quarter assignments is about 20 hours of work per week. However, a student’s time commitment to coursework (in one word) will vary based on a number of variables, including their learning style and study habits. Most students work full-time while attending classes at Pacifica.
How do I take classes without being admitted to a degree program?

Yes, Pacifica is approved by the U. S. Do you offer scholarships? When is the deadline to apply?
For our various programs, Pacifica offers renewable and non-renewable scholarships to applicants who demonstrate significant financial need and academic merit. The scholarship application deadline is September 10th. Remember that in order to be eligible for a scholarship, you must be accepted before the deadline for application.
