Six Connecticut Community Colleges offer the cutting-edge associate degree nursing program known as the Connecticut Community Colleges Nursing Program (CTCCNP). The nursing program is a four-semester course of study that prepares registered nurses to perform in a professional capacity using current nursing practice standards. The social and biological sciences, liberal arts, and nursing courses make up the curriculum. These courses provide the foundation for the practice of nursing.

NCC-ESC Multi-Award Nursing Program:
A multi-award program offered by Nassau Community College (NCC) and SUNY Empire State College (ESC) awards an associate’s degree in science from NCC and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from ESC. The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN*) has accredited Nassau’s Associate in Science Nursing Program, making graduates eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) and receive their Registered Nurse licenses. The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) has accredited the bachelor’s degree program in nursing, which is available to anyone with a registered nurse (RN) license.
Our Multi-Award program’s objectives are to prepare pre-licensure and post-licensure nursing students to provide safe, competent patient-centered care in a range of healthcare settings and to maximize human health and wellness potential throughout the life span, in the context of a rapidly evolving healthcare system.
These programs are created to instill in students a sense of integrity, commitment, and competence in addition to providing them with the knowledge and abilities necessary to meet the health care needs of a diverse population within the community.
Students’ competencies will develop gradually over the course of these programs in the knowledge they acquire and the application of nursing knowledge, critical thinking, clinical reasoning, communication, leadership, and technology skills necessary for their role in the profession and the medical team.
