Zempilas co-hosted the breakfast show for Perth radio station 6PR with Steve Mills from January 2014 until 11 December 2020 and presented sport on Seven News Perth every Monday through Thursday until 2022. He also participates in the AFL football commentary team for Seven Networks. Zempilas, who formerly worked for radio station 92, has provided commentary for the Olympics and a number of other major sporting events. 9 in Perth and has formerly served as a Weekend Sunrise co-host. In 2020, Zempilas was elected Lord Mayor of Perth.
