Playing intramural sports or trying out for one of the numerous Kent State Golden Flashes varsity teams, which compete in the NCAA Division I Mid-American Conference, are two ways that student athletes can get involved. The members of the new wave band Devo, as well as Michael Keaton, Drew Carey, and David Sedaris, all attended Kent, but none of them received a degree. Former talk show host Arsenio Hall and numerous NFL players, including James Harrison, a two-time Super Bowl champion, are Kent State alumni.
