Working professionals with a minimum of five years of progressive career experience are targeted by the Executive MBA (EMBA) format. To enroll in the EMBA program, you don’t have to be an executive level participant. With an average of 13 to 15 years of work experience, our EMBA students are looking for an MBA that focuses on the knowledge and skill sets they need to advance in their careers or change career paths.
Additionally, EMBA programs provide a higher caliber of service than most MBA programs do. Every student has a program manager assigned to them who will oversee the completion of all administrative paperwork and tasks to make your entry into the program as smooth as possible. They will serve as your main point of contact for the entire 17-month program and will support you throughout your EMBA journey.
Cohorts of EMBA students complete the 17-month program together, starting with a weeklong residency at Georgia Tech. Then, students attend classes on a few Friday evenings (5:30–9:30 p.m.) about two to three weekends per month. m. ) and Saturdays (8:30 a. m. – 5:30 p. m. ) for the duration of the program. There are no Sunday classes. In the first semester, there is an additional week-long on-campus residency as well as a required two-week international residency.
What is the difference between Executive, Evening, and Full-time MBAs?
Executive, Evening, and Full-Time refer to the class/program structure, not the MBA degree specifically. It is crucial to remember that participants in the Executive MBA program graduate with an MBA, not an “Executive MBA.” Depending on the degree specialty they choose, students who successfully complete the Executive MBA program receive either an “MBA – Global Business” or an “MBA – Management of Technology” degree.
What are the differences between the Global Business and Management of Technology specializations?
No matter their program specialization, all EMBA students must complete the common MBA curriculum that is shared by both programs. The managerial challenges related to the global business environment are particularly stressed in the specialization in global business, while the managerial challenges related to innovation and technology are particularly stressed in the specialization in management of technology.
You learn how to think strategically and contribute to businesses that operate globally through the Global Business specialization. Global Business transitions from the MBA core to a specialized curriculum focusing on the dynamics of global competition and methods for creating a global competitive advantage after the MBA core. Learn more about the Global Business curriculum.
The program’s culminating experience is the Global Strategy Project, in which your capstone team and you collaborate with a business to address a real global issue. You’ll look for opportunities and suggest tactics for implementing them abroad, from product and pricing to procurement, logistics, and management. Find out more about the Global Strategy Project and the Global Business Program.
Our specialization in management of technology teaches you to anticipate and adopt new technologies while also controlling innovation and organizational change. Learn more about the Management of Technology curriculum.
The program’s culminating project is the New Product and Service Launch Project. You will select an emerging technology and finish a thorough business plan as a member of a select team, showcasing your knowledge of how to launch a technology-based good or service. A jury-judged business plan competition wraps up this powerful integrative experience. Learn more about the New Product and Service Launch Project and the Management of Technology Program.
