According to US accounts, the Eller College of Management at the University of Arizona is a newcomer to QS’s regional MBA rankings for North America for the 2014–15 academic year. This year, 41 students in total enrolled in the course, with an average GMAT score of 654. The class of 2017 is also above the 40% threshold for female students %E2%80%93 something that represents a huge rise on the 22 5% proportion seen in last years entering cohort, even when accounting for the smaller class sizes
The main campus of the Eller College is located in Tucson, which is just 60 miles from the US-Mexico border and a little more than 100 miles (160 km) southeast of Phoenix, the state capital of Arizona. However, the institution offers both its part-time MBA program and its EMBA program from Phoenix, the sixth most populous city in the US.

The Eller curriculum emphasizes experiential learning, which students cite as “one of the program’s greatest strengths.” According to one MBA, the process goes as follows in the spring semester: “MBAs work in teams with local businesses to assess real-world problems, make strategic recommendations, and ultimately help the businesses solve those problems. Another person tells us that the experiential learning is more than just a way to build your resume. It’s a very authentic and difficult experience that’s meant to get students ready for future leadership roles. The success of the experiential learning component is greatly influenced by the school’s strong “relationship with key businesses” in the neighborhood.
Additionally, students appreciate that Eller’s classes are “small enough that they have easy access to professors… Professors and students are able to form bonds and friendships. ” These personal touches permeate the program’s administration as well. “The administrative staff adds great value to the student experience…[and] goes above and beyond to assist students in finding whatever they need,” says one student. The administration works hard to provide students with all the resources they require, including cross-disciplinary courses, job opportunities, and highly tailored informational interviews. The university-at-large is at the other end of the size spectrum. It is enormous, which is also viewed as a plus; one student says, “With a large campus, the business students can take advantage of wonderful resources for the entire school.”
