For profoundly gifted students, The Davidson Academy is the only free public school of its kind. Classes at the Academy are divided into ability groups rather than age groups, and the middle and high school curricula are tailored to the abilities, strengths, and interests of the students. Families from all over the country and the world have come to us because of our distinctive approach to education.

Located in Reno, Nev. the Davidson Academy is focused on a dynamic learning environment where students who achieve a score of 99 percent or higher IQ and achievement test scores in the ninth percentile do well compared to their intellectual peers.

Our fully accredited school places a strong emphasis on collaborative and instruction-based learning, cultivating a stimulating environment for discussion and intellectual energy. The Academy has evolved as the school has grown to offer more opportunities while maintaining a laser-sharp focus on the individual student.
