Here is a summary of the various phases a candidate will experience throughout the entire admissions process. Before contacting the EMBA Admissions Team with any questions, carefully read the information in this section.
Completed applications (including references) will be taken into consideration in rounds 1, 2, and 3 as they are submitted. Within two weeks, you will be informed if you have been selected for an interview.
Within five weeks of first submitting your application, you will be notified of the date of your interview if you are shortlisted. Within a week of your interview, we should contact you to inform you of the outcome.
We typically receive a lot more applications in rounds four and five, so the review procedure will take a little longer. We might not get back to you until after the application deadline.
Please be aware that in order to be considered, your application must be complete, including the receipt references.
We regret that the Admissions Committee is unable to respond to unsuccessful applications due to the volume of applications we receive.
The admissions committee will review your application after we receive it and decide whether to invite you for an interview.
All candidates will need to provide:
- Original copies of diplomas and transcripts, as well as GMAT and TOEFL or IELTS scores, if necessary
- Their passport or another form of photo identification
The Admissions Committee typically contacts interview candidates with its decision within a week of the interview. For applications received in the final application round, this process might take longer.
If we offer you a place on the Cambridge Executive MBA, we will ask (when you accept that place) for a reservation fee of 15% of the programme fee Additionally, we will require financial assurances that you can afford the program’s costs.
Within a week of your interview, you will receive an email letting you know if you have been offered a spot on the Cambridge EMBA. This email will include information about the deadline for your offer as well as links to your conditional offer and financial disclosure documents.
Before we can turn this into an unconditional offer, the following conditions listed in the conditional offer documents must be satisfied:
Agree to the terms and conditions of your offer
Check out your offer’s terms and conditions on the EMBA application portal, and accept them. The accompanying information pack contains more details about the terms and conditions.
Payment of the reservation fee
You must pay a £10,000 reservation fee to secure your spot on the Cambridge Executive MBA in 2021. This reservation fee is nonrefundable because it goes toward the various costs that Cambridge Judge Business School will incur once a student accepts their admissions offer. Observe that this deposit will be applied to your Executive MBA tuition.
Evidence of ability to meet costs
We need proof that you can afford the Cambridge Executive MBA program’s cost before we can fully admit you. Details about the required proof are included in your offer.
You must submit a letter from your employer confirming your job title and salary on business letterhead. The Cambridge Executive MBA Admissions Manager should receive this letter.
You must present an official duplicate or the original copy of your transcripts. We will also need the original degree certificate if these do not verify your degree award.
An annual reference check is conducted by Cambridge Judge Business School on a sample of offer candidates. These take the form of contacting one or both of your referees or conducting an academic record verification check.
In some instances, a third party performs these checks on the School’s behalf. If additional information regarding this condition is required, a member of the Executive MBA Admissions Team will get in touch with you.
If you have any questions at any time during this period, feel free to contact the admissions team.
If you accept your offer of a spot, make sure your paperwork and funding are in order and that your reservation fee, letter of acceptance, and financial guarantee have been received on time.
Inform the Admissions Team as soon as possible if you are unable to satisfy any offer condition or would like to ask for an extension to the offer deadline.
In addition to enrolling in the Executive MBA program, you also join one of the university’s 31 colleges.
The Admissions Manager will send you a list of colleges accepting EMBA participants that year once you’ve been accepted to the program. You choose your top three from these and give them to the Admissions Manager who submits an application on your behalf.
Each college has its own admission standards, and admission is at the college’s discretion. All University of Cambridge students are guaranteed college membership.
Finding college placements for students is the responsibility of the Executive MBA Admissions team; you should not attempt to arrange this independently.
Once your tuition and college fees have been paid and you have joined your College, only then will you formally become a member of the University of Cambridge.
For the purpose of awarding bursaries, we use a staged (rounds-based) admissions process that enables applicants to schedule when to submit their applications.
