Army Flight School Acceptance Rate

I’ve written a lot about what I believe to be the ideal career path for a military pilot on The Pilot Network. However, that is not required. I had that path in mind specifically for a pilot serving on Active Duty in the military. BogiDope is the ideal starting point for the Ultimate Military Pilot Career Path, which turns out to be an even better option.

Armed forces organizations that are part of the Army National Guard, Air Force Reserve, and other Reserve branches recruit young people right out of college and send them to military Undergraduate Flying Training (UFT). You’ll soon realize why this is most likely the ideal path to becoming a military aviator. If I had known this was an option, I would currently be operating C-130s out of FE Warren AFB in Wyoming, F-16s out of Buckley AFB in Colorado, or both. I’m going to give you access to what I think is the best kept secret in military aviation because I want you to take advantage of my experience.

Keep in mind that the acceptance rate into the High School to Flight school program is quite low, with some estimates putting it as low as 5% or less. Essentially that means for every 100 applications the Army receives, only 5 will get accepted into the program.
