  • Samir Ghanem was an Egyptian comedian, singer, and entertainer. He was born in Egypt and lived from the years 1937 to 2021 (when he was 84 years old).
  • Born in Egypt in 1946, Ahmed Zewail passed away in 2016 at the age of 70. He attended Alexandria University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree. His professions included chemist, inventor, researcher, and physicist. He is also referred to as the “father of femtochemistry.” He became the second African and the first Egyptian to win a Nobel Prize in a scientific field when he received the 1999 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for his work on femtochemistry. At the California Institute of Technology, he held the Linus Pauling Chair Professorship in Chemistry, the Professorship in Physics, and the Directorship of the Physical Biology Center for Ultrafast Science and Technology.
